Breast Lift

Mastopexy is one of the breast lift surgical operations. Women undergo this surgical procedure to improve the look and form of their breasts. The outline of the breasts gets distorted on account of some factors such as weight loss, childbirth and aging. These factors affect the shape and size of the breasts in cases of some women. They are also responsible for the drooping and sagging of the breasts. Breast lift is an effective medium to elevate the drooping breasts to the level of the chest wall and settle the areola and nipple in their positions.

Breast Lifting Procedures

Many women feel concerned for their droopy breasts or ptotic. The droopy breasts develop during the period of weight loss, diet program maintenance, pregnancy and breast-feeding. During these times, the breasts become soft and lack firmness. As a result, the place of nipple moves down the breast crease and nipple areola also goes downward. This poses no problem for all women. So, the eligibility of an individual woman is determined by the pencil test. In this test, a pencil or pen is placed underneath the breasts of a woman and the item stands erect without assistance, it is concluded that she can certainly benefit from undergoing a breast life.

Women who have given birth to two children and breast-fed them are common patients who consult doctors go through a breast lift. During pregnancy in general and breast-feeding in particular, the top half of the breasts feels less fullness due to the involution of the breast tissues. Some women develop full breasts even after pregnancy, but the case is rare. Women have to undergo the phase of breast feeding for the well being of their babies that even if, affects the form and appearance of their breasts.

Droopy breasts or ptosis vary in degree.

The minimal ptosis - The implanting of breast is required by the minimal ptosis.

The nipple areolar complex - This sort of areolar complex develops almost two centimeters underneath the inframammary crease. A small circumareolar lift is the required treatment in this particular case.

A formal breast lifting procedure for an implant is recommended for those women who have ptotic breast with loss of fullness.

Risks And Complications

Women patients are advised to put on a special wear to support the recently operated breasts for five to six weeks. Pain-killing medications are prescribed for a few days.
