Chemical Peel



Chemical peel is a medical process to remove the damaged layer of skin by application of skin friendly chemicals. Afterwards, a new layer surfaces and renews the skin. The skin appears soft and smooth to touch, bright and clear to look. Chemical peel is a technique of skin treatment to improve the pattern and smoothen the texture of the facial skin.

Factors That Cause Damage To The Skin

Uneven pigmentation, ultra violet sunrays, scarring, liver problems, skin diseases and malnutrition damage the outer layers of the skin. These factors spoil the look, reduce the brightness and roughen the surface of the skin.

They are usually applied on the skin around the neck and other parts of the body.

Phenol - Among the chemical peels, phenol is the strongest and most effective. It is put into application to remove rigid wrinkles and lines on the facial skin. It proves effective against pre-cancerous growths in the sunburnt skin. Phenol treatment is recommended on the basis of the types of skin pigmentation as it drastically lightens the areas under treatment. People with dark skin should not take to this sort of chemical skin treatment. Heart patients are also advised not to undergo this phenol treatment.

Chemical facial peels b-LIFTx - It is a new formulation of salicylic acid. Its application removes small imperfections and rub out wrinkles on the surface of the skin. This procedure of chemical skin treatment not only sloughs off the dead cells in the surface of the skin but also stimulates new, healthy and living cells in the outer layers of the skin.

The risks that chemical peels involve

A qualified and experienced surgeon executes the procedure of chemical peel safely. However, the application of chemicals more than what is necessary may go reverse to infect or scar the area of the skin under treatment.

Side effects that arise from the application of Alphahydroxy acids include stinging, irritation, crusting and redness.

Chemical peels using Trichloroacetic acids may cause undesirable changes in the natural color of the skin.

Application of phenol peels may put persons who are affected with heart problems at a risk of developing complications.
