Possible Complications Procedure
Making incision in the buttock crease is preferred, as incision scars remain hidden there. However, this area is highly prone to be infected. The surgeon then, creates a large-enough pocket to insert the buttock implants. The implants are usually placed either under or above the gluteus maximus muscle. Sometimes, it becomes necessary to perform liposuction to further the enhancement of the buttocks in shape and size. The procedure is performed on the buttocks one by one. After the execution of the surgery, the surgeon ensures the symmetrical appearance and natural look of the buttocks. Then, the incisions are stitched up. The patient is kept under the impact of an anesthesia during the surgery. It takes nearly 2 to 3 hours to execute the surgery meticulously. Duration of the surgery depends on some factors such as the surgical technique, the place of incision, anatomy of the patient and type of anesthetic agent. Recovery
Stitches are removed within seven to ten days. Swelling gradually subsides over a few weeks. Patients return to normal activity after a month of the surgery.
